Fire Kids Club Safety Workshop

Children are basically same around the world.  They are full of energy and eager to learn new things.  But it is rather unfortunate that kids, with all their innocence, can become skeptible unless they are taught the correct things.

One of the basic things we adults ought to teach the young is Safety Awareness particularly Fire Safety.  They are instances where young children do not know what to do when faced with a fire in their homes.  They panic and acted instinctively by hiding under the bed or in the cup-board at the first sign of a fire..

This is tragic and it is with this in mind that K. Balasupramaniam formed the Fire Kids Club in 1997. In a few short years K. Bala and his team managed to train no less than 25,000 children by organizing Fire Kids’ Club Safety Workshops throughout the country.

During the 4-hours workshop, the children were taught, among other things, what to do when their shirt caught fire, "Stop, Drop and Roll" method; practice what to do in a fire by doing the exercise, learn to "Crawl Low Under Smoke"; “Smoke House Escape Method” and one of the most fun-filled activities will be the fire engine ride whereby the children get a chance to ride on a real fire truck.
